Junior Quantity Surveyor

Company Intro / Summary
A leading contractor with a strong presence across Ireland is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in the South East. While the role has a civils bias, applicants from residential, commercial, or other construction backgrounds are also welcomed. This is a long-term position offering genuine career progression, strong mentorship from senior staff, and exposure to a broad range of projects nationwide.
  
Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of cost planning, budgeting, and procurement across civil and construction projects.
• Support senior QS staff with valuations, variations, and subcontractor account management.
• Prepare and review tender documentation, bills of quantities, and cost reports.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor project cash flow and maintain accurate records of costs and progress.
• Gain hands-on experience in all aspects of pre- and post-contract commercial management.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
• 2–3 years’ post-graduate experience in a QS role.
• Civils experience preferred, but all backgrounds (residential, commercial, etc.) are welcomed.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QS software.
• Willingness to travel for projects nationwide when required.

Package

• Salary: €45,000 – €50,000 per annum (DOE).
