Our client is an established and highly regarded Accountancy Practice based in North Dublin is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team.
This is a unique opportunity to join a small but growing firm with 13 FTEs. You will have a clear pathway toward senior leadership and potential future equity/ownership for the right individual.
The Partners are continuing to win new business and expand the client base, while also planning a gradual step back from day-to-day operations over the next 3–5 years. This role is ideally suited to an ambitious, commercially minded accountant who is interested not only in a senior management position but also in the long-term potential to progress to Partner or Practice Owner level.
The Opportunity This position can be structured to suit either:
- A senior accountant seeking a long-term leadership employee role, or
- An experienced professional interested in a succession planning pathway, with the possibility of moving toward equity participation or buy-in following an initial 12–18 month transition period.
You will work closely with the existing Partners to gain a deep understanding of the practice, its clients, systems and team, with the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities - Managing and mentoring a team of junior and part-qualified accountants.
- Planning and practice management.
- Overseeing a diverse portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
- Review and finalisation of:
- Year-end Financial Statements
- Management Accounts
- VAT, PAYE/PRSI and Corporation Tax returns
- Payroll and bookkeeping assignments
- Audits (reducing number)
- Ensuring all compliance and statutory deadlines are met.
- Acting as a primary point of contact for clients and building long-term relationships.
- Supporting new client onboarding and contributing to business development initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities to improve internal systems and operational efficiency.
- Working closely with the Partners on strategic planning and succession preparation.
Candidate Profile - Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent).
- Strong Irish Practice Experience is essential with Audit/Accounts & Tax.
- Previous experience in an Irish accountancy practice environment.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise or manage staff.
- Commercial awareness and interest in practice operations and growth.
- Excellent interpersonal and client relationship management skills.
- Ambition to progress into senior leadership and potentially ownership (desirable but not mandatory).
