Junior Mechanical Project Engineer

ProSource Group are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Project Management with the delivery of mechanical building services installations on a data centre project.
This is an on-site role requiring strong technical ability, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy, coordination, and compliance with project requirements
• Assist in developing mechanical design solutions and resolving technical queries
• Support procurement by reviewing equipment selections, data sheets, and material approvals
• Ensure that all mechanical installations comply with Standards as well as project specifications
• Monitor and inspect mechanical installations on site, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with the design
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to resolve issues and maintain efficient workflow
• Attend site meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination workshops as required
• Track installation progress and report updates to the Project Manager
• Support the development of method statements and risk assessments
• Assist with equipment tagging, asset registers, and compliance documentation
• Manage technical submittals, RFIs, and design clarifications
• Ensure all installation records meet project and client requirements
• Support commissioning teams to ensure systems are tested, balanced, and verified in line with specifications
• Help in preparing O&M manuals, handover documentation, and as-built information

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
• 2-5 years experience in mechanical building services or construction engineering
• Experience working on large commercial, industrial, data centre, or pharmaceutical projects  
• Knowledge of Irish and EU construction standards and regulations beneficial
