A well-established and respected building services engineering consultancy is seeking a
Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join its team in
West Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career engineer to develop strong technical foundations within a consultancy environment delivering high-quality building services projects across commercial and mixed-use sectors.
You will work alongside experienced mechanical and electrical engineers in a collaborative M&E team, gaining exposure to projects from concept design through to construction and handover.
The RoleAs a Junior Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the design and coordination of electrical building services systems across live projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the design of electrical building services systems including:
- Lighting & emergency lighting
- Small power & distribution
- Fire alarm & life safety systems
- Containment & cable management
- Producing drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Supporting preparation of calculations, technical reports, and specifications.
- Coordinating designs with mechanical, architectural and structural teams.
- Attending site visits and supporting construction-stage queries.
- Ensuring compliance with Irish building regulations and electrical standards.
This role provides strong mentorship and structured development within a technically driven consultancy.
About You - Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- 1–2 years’ experience (consultancy, placement or graduate experience welcome).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Strong technical curiosity and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Keen interest in progressing toward professional accreditation (Engineers Ireland / CIBSE).
