Junior Building Services Engineer (M&E) - Limerick

A growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Junior Building Services Engineer with experience or interest in both mechanical and electrical building services to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on small to medium-sized commercial projects across a range of sectors, building your technical skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
You will work alongside experienced engineers and designers, developing and coordinating practical, efficient building services designs from concept to completion.

About the Role

As a Junior Building Services Engineer, you’ll assist in the design and coordination of mechanical and electrical systems for client projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Supporting mechanical & electrical design for commercial building projects
• Producing layouts, schematics, and detail drawings using CAD/Revit
• Assisting with engineering calculations, equipment schedules, and technical documentation
• Collaborating with senior engineers, architects, and multi-disciplinary teams
• Helping to coordinate services integration and clash-checking in BIM environments
• Participating in site visits and supporting design reviews
• Learning technical standards and best practice design procedures

This role offers excellent exposure to the full project lifecycle and the opportunity to develop both mechanical and electrical design expertise.

About You

• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Around 1–4 years’ experience in building services design or consultancy
• Proficient or familiar with CAD/Revit (BIM experience preferred)
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
• Good communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
• Keen to progress professionally and expand knowledge across both mechanical and electrical systems
• Interest in sustainable and efficient design approaches
