M&E Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced
Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in
Waterford. The company delivers complex engineering projects across sectors such as
pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial, and data centres, with an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. This role offers a superb opportunity for a motivated QS with M&E experience to work in a
hybrid environment, with
occasional site visits and long-term progression within a growing and well-structured organisation.
Responsibilities - Manage commercial and contractual aspects of mechanical and electrical packages from tender to final account.
- Prepare cost plans, budgets, and procurement schedules for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and manage cost comparisons.
- Oversee valuations, variations, and progress claims to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure commercial control.
- Contribute to value engineering exercises and cost-saving initiatives.
- Assist with tender preparation, contract administration, and project close-out.
- Undertake occasional site visits to monitor progress and support delivery teams.
Requirements - Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ post-graduate experience, ideally within an M&E or building services contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, procurement, and cost management.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented, commercially minded, and capable of managing multiple project demands.
Package - Salary: €55,000 – €65,000 DOE.
- Full-time, permanent position based in Waterford.
