Health & Safety Officer - Civils

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their Health & Safety career to build hands-on experience on a large commercial site. You'll be the dedicated H&S presence on site day to day, while working indirectly with and supported by senior H&S and project staff. It's a strong role for anyone looking to grow their experience and progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day Health & Safety across groundworks and demolition activities on site.
• Carry out daily site inspections and safety walks, and record findings and close-out actions.
• Review RAMS and risk assessments for excavations, lifting operations and demolition works.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings to site crews and subcontractors.
• Monitor high-risk activities, including excavations, temporary works, plant movements and demolition.
• Report and help investigate incidents and near misses.
• Maintain H&S files, permits, registers and inspection records.
• Work with senior H&S staff, the Site Manager and Engineers to keep the site compliant.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all site operations.

Requirements:

• Level 7/8 degree in Health & Safety, Engineering or a related discipline, or a NEBOSH qualification.
• At least 1 year's experience in construction or engineering.
• Knowledge of groundworks or demolition activities would be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and construction regulations.
• Able to work on your own on site, and confident dealing with site crews and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Keen to learn and develop within a Health & Safety career.
• Full Irish driving licence.
