Health and Safety Officer

This role will suit a proactive safety professional with a strong background in construction or civil engineering who is confident leading safety initiatives, engaging with project teams, and driving high standards across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of health & safety procedures across projects
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety reviews
• Support project teams in maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards
• Promote a strong safety culture and drive best practice across all site activities
• Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action plans
• Review RAMS, safety documentation, and site-specific risk controls
• Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and client representatives on all safety-related matters
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and ongoing support to site teams

Requirements

• Minimum 1+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of Irish health & safety legislation and site compliance requirements.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification.
• Proven ability to work across multiple projects and engage effectively with site teams.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Full Irish driving licence and willingness to travel across Cork.
