ProSource are recruiting a Foreman on behalf of their client who are a leading construction firm specialising in high-quality residential projects. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to craftsmanship, they strive to deliver exceptional results on every job. This role is based in South Dublin.

Job Summary:

Skilled General Foreman with a strong background in carpentry to oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in carpentry, as well as demonstrated leadership abilities and project management skills. The General Foreman will be responsible for coordinating and supervising construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities:

Project Management: Manage all aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Supervision: Supervise carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications and quality standards.
Carpentry Expertise: Utilize advanced carpentry skills to perform and oversee various tasks, including framing, finishing, and custom woodworking.
Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure compliance with building codes, project plans, and quality standards.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
Communication: Maintain open communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure project goals are met.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Training and Development: Train and mentor junior carpenters and construction workers to improve skills and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry, with a strong understanding of construction techniques and materials.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a construction environment.
  • Excellent carpentry skills, including proficiency in framing, trim work, and other carpentry tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Valid driver's license
