Finance Manager/ Bookkeeper - Part time

My client is an established construction company based in South Dublin.  They are looking for a skilled and motivated Bookkeeper/ Accounts Manager with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience to join their dynamic and rapidly expanding team.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic growth by delivering accurate financial insights.

Experience in managing a finance team is essential, as you’ll play a key role in developing and guiding the team to achieve our financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Banking & Cash Management
  • Record cash receipts, payments, and direct debits
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain weekly balances
  • Manage ad hoc banking requirements
Revenue Compliance
  • Process RCT payments and manage subcontractor contracts
  • Prepare monthly PAYE/PRSI and RCT returns
  • Complete bi-monthly VAT returns
  • Reconcile payroll and RCT submissions
Credit Control & Rebates
  • Issue monthly customer statements including following up on overdue accounts
  • Prepare rebate spreadsheets and credit notes for customers
Month-End & Year-End
  • Close off debtors and creditors
  • Reconcile supplier and subcontractor accounts
  • Complete year-end payroll and financial close
  • Manage company insurance renewals
  • Liaise with external auditors
 
Payroll & Wages
  • Process weekly wages (two payrolls)
  • Ensure accurate weekly and monthly returns
  • Provide backup support for payroll
Reporting
  • Prepare sales figures and management accounts for the Managing Director
  • Deliver weekly and monthly financial reports in prescribed format
Other Duties
  • Liaise with accountants and internal departments
  • Review office expenses
  • Maintain, prepare and post journals to bring accounts to trial balance
  • Prepare sales analysis reports


Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting management role
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Revenue compliance (PAYE, PRSI, VAT, RCT, ERR)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
