An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join a highly regarded, project-led professional services organisation based in Dublin. This role will partner closely with senior leadership teams, providing commercial insight and financial support across multiple business units and high-profile projects.

The Opportunity Reporting into senior leadership, you will act as a trusted finance partner to a group of senior stakeholders, supporting commercial performance, financial planning, and project profitability.

You will play a key role in improving business performance through financial insight, forecasting, commercial analysis, and enhanced financial controls.
This role would particularly suit someone coming from a professional services, project-based, construction, engineering, consultancy, architecture, or property-related environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior leadership teams to provide meaningful financial insight across projects and business operations
  • Monitor financial performance throughout the full project lifecycle, from tender stage through to delivery and completion
  • Review project budgets, fee structures, labour costs, subcontractor spend, and margins
  • Analyse project performance and identify commercial risks including profitability concerns, scope creep, write-offs, under-recovery, and delivery delays
  • Support effective billing, WIP management, and debtor collection processes
  • Provide commercial analysis and financial modelling to support pricing and proposal decisions
  • Prepare forecasts covering revenue, margins, overheads, utilisation, and cash flow
  • Support workforce planning and resource allocation through financial analysis and reporting
  • Deliver monthly financial commentary, budget variance analysis, and performance insights to senior stakeholders
  • Review contracts and commercial agreements to ensure strong financial outcomes
  • Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, tenders, and commercial proposals
  • Partner with the wider finance function to ensure robust project accounting, revenue recognition, and reporting accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, controls, reporting, and processes, including the use of technology and AI-driven efficiencies
  • Support and mentor junior members of the finance team
About You

You will be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with non-financial stakeholders and influencing decision-making.
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years PQE within a Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance, or Project Finance role.
  • Experience working within a project-based professional services environment highly desirable.
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and commercial analysis.
  • Solid understanding of project accounting, WIP, revenue recognition, and margin analysis.
  • Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and influencing business decisions.
Technical Skills
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • Advanced Excel skills essential.
  • Experience with reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI advantageous.
