Estimator

A well-established civil engineering contractor is seeking to appoint an Estimator to join their team based in Co. Mayo. This role is suited to an experienced Estimator who is comfortable operating independently, taking full ownership of tenders and pricing activities from day one.

This is a key hire within the business and would suit someone who enjoys responsibility, autonomy, and being trusted to deliver without excessive oversight.

The Role

• Preparation of accurate and competitive tenders across a range of civil engineering works
• Full responsibility for the estimating process from initial enquiry through to submission
• Detailed take-offs, pricing and bill preparation from drawings and specifications
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
• Reviewing project risks, opportunities and commercial considerations at tender stage
• Working closely with senior management to support work-winning activities

Requirements

• Proven experience working as an Estimator within a civil engineering or contracting environment
• Ability to manage the estimating function independently and confidently
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, pricing and cost control
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Comfortable working to deadlines with minimal supervision
• Relevant third-level qualification desirable but not essential
