Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of major construction projects.
• Analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to develop comprehensive pricing strategies.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive quotations.
• Collaborate closely with design and project teams to identify risks and opportunities in project costs.
• Lead value engineering exercises to optimise cost and programme.
• Present estimates and bid strategies to senior management and clients as required.
• Maintain up-to-date cost databases and estimating standards.
• Mentor junior estimators and support continuous improvement within the estimating team.

Requirements

• Minimum 5–6 years’ experience as an estimator, ideally within a Tier One main contracting environment.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market rates.
• Proven track record in managing complex tenders across commercial and infrastructure projects.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
• Relevant construction qualification preferred.
