A well-established and respected electrical contractor in Cork is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead their growing pre-construction function. This business delivers a wide range of electrical installation projects across commercial, industrial, residential, and specialist sectors, with a strong reputation for quality and repeat business.

This is a long-term strategic hire offering influence, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape the estimating department as the company continues to expand.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating department, ensuring accurate, competitive, and timely tender submissions.
• Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, tender documentation, and bid strategies for electrical projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical information to produce detailed estimates.
• Manage and mentor estimating staff or support junior team members where required.
• Work closely with directors, project managers, and the commercial team to support business development and tender success.
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and maintain strong working relationships.
• Contribute to internal process improvement, standardisation, and estimating best practice.
• Support handovers to project delivery teams following successful tender awards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Senior Electrical Estimator within the electrical contracting sector.
• Strong technical understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and commercial skills.
• Strong leadership ability, or the ambition and capability to step into a management role.
• Proficiency in estimating software and relevant take-off tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the business.

• €90,000 - €105,000 + Benefits DOE
