Our client is a specialist consultancy working at the forefront of Ireland’s renewable energy and infrastructure sectors. With a strong pipeline of projects across onshore wind, solar, grid and strategic infrastructure, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Environmental Scientist to join their experienced and growing environmental team.

This is a hands-on technical and project management role, offering the opportunity to lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for high-profile planning applications across Ireland. You’ll work closely with planners, engineers, and other specialists to deliver coordinated, best-in-class environmental reporting and regulatory compliance.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of EIARs, planning documents, and associated reports for renewable and infrastructure developments.
  • Act as project manager for multi-disciplinary projects — liaising with clients, regulators, and stakeholders throughout the planning lifecycle.
  • Conduct site visits, desktop studies, constraints mapping, and baseline environmental assessments.
  • Support grid connection and route corridor assessments, including feasibility and constraints reporting.
  • Provide technical mentoring to junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and quality standards.
What we’re looking for:
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in environmental consultancy or similar, with a strong track record in managing EIARs for planning submissions.
  • A degree in environmental science or a related discipline; chartered status (or working towards) is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish planning legislation, EPA guidelines, and relevant environmental legislation.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders and internal teams.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a passion for contributing to sustainable development.
