Our client is an established energy & sustainability services firm, expanding their technical team and seeking an Energy Engineer to support a portfolio of industrial, commercial, and public-sector clients.
The Role You will work as part of a multidisciplinary energy engineering team, delivering a mix of analytical, technical, and client-facing work across:
Energy Audits & Assessments - Conduct site-based energy audits across manufacturing, commercial buildings, pharma, food, datacentre and public-sector environments.
- Analyse energy consumption, asset performance, baseloads, tariffs, operational profiles and identify opportunities.
Technical Analysis & Modelling - Develop energy models, savings calculations, measurement & verification plans.
- Evaluate HVAC, CHP, boilers, compressed air, refrigeration, lighting, pumps, motors, BMS/controls, renewables and storage technologies.
- Prepare feasibility studies for energy reduction and decarbonisation projects.
Design & Engineering - Produce technical scopes, outline and detailed designs for energy efficiency upgrades (mechanical/electrical/controls).
- Support the design of optimisation strategies for HVAC, BMS, heat recovery, electrical systems, and renewable/BESS integration.
Project Delivery & Implementation - Work with contractors and project managers to ensure upgrades are delivered to spec.
- Review drawings, commissioning documentation, and performance data.
- Support client teams through implementation, troubleshooting and continuous optimisation.
Carbon & Sustainability Work - Support carbon reporting, SEAI reporting, BER/non-domestic certification, and emissions reduction planning.
- Assist in developing decarbonisation pathways for large organisations.
The successful applicant will have: - Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Building Services, Environmental Engineering, or similar.
- 1–6+ years’ experience in energy engineering, HVAC/BMS optimisation, industrial utilities, sustainability consulting, or building services.
- Strong analytical and technical understanding of energy systems.
- Comfortable working with clients, presenting findings, and managing projects end-to-end.
- Ability to work on varied projects across industrial and commercial environments.
