engineering and electrical contracting company is seeking an experienced
Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Ireland. The company specialises in delivering complex
substation, HV, and critical electrical infrastructure projects nationwide. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and a rapidly expanding portfolio of energy and utility projects, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious QS to develop within a high-performing environment.
Responsibilities - Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of substation and electrical infrastructure projects.
- Prepare cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation for HV and MV electrical works.
- Liaise with suppliers and specialist subcontractors to obtain quotations and manage procurement.
- Track project costs, variations, and valuations to maintain commercial control.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial leads to support project delivery.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, progress claims, cash flows, and final accounts.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and internal processes.
- Contribute to value engineering exercises and cost optimisation efforts across projects.
Requirements - Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in a QS role with an electrical or M&E contractor.
- Substation or HV project experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation processes, and industry regulations.
- Excellent commercial acumen with strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Effective communicator with strong negotiation and organisational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative project team.
Package - €60,000 - €70,000 based on experience.
