Electrical Design Engineer

Prosource are seeking a design Engineer for a reputable Design consultancy based in Dublin and the role entails producing design drawings, diagrams and schematics, project specifications and schedules for Building services design under limited supervision that comply with Irish and European Standards, Building Regulations & CIBSE guidelines.

Responsibilities:
• Work as part of a multidiscipline team on both large and small projects
• Collaborate with Senior Engineers to design mechanical and electrical services packages.
• Provide technical support and assistance to Senior Electrical/Mechanical Engineers
• Design of General Arrangement drawings and schematics and general service, Fire Alarm, Security and lighting schematics. Review and approval of such drawing produced for projects.
• Prepare and update mechanical and electrical specifications and drawings to ensure accuracy for installation.
• Co-ordinate with quality and EHS on matters where engineering input is needed.
• Ensure project design and installations meet the requirement of National and international Standards and EU directives
• Understand the control of drawings, ensuring new drawings records are produced, reviewed and existing drawings are updated

Skills/Training/Competencies:
• Engineering degree or equivalent (3 – 5 years experience)
• CAD and IES simulation proficiency where possible
• Strong working knowledge of proprietary modelling software (eg Dialux, Elevate, Trimble, Amtech/IES)
• Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in the design of mechanical and/or electrical building services.
• Knowledge of all applicable mechanical/electrical engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices
