Electrical Design Engineer

The Role
You will take technical ownership of electrical system design for modular infrastructure packages, supporting projects from early-stage concept development through detailed engineering, integration, testing, and final project handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and coordination of modular infrastructure systems across multiple projects.
• Develop detailed electrical design packages including power distribution, control systems, UPS integration, earthing, and auxiliary services.
• Produce and review electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, cable schedules, and technical documentation.
• Support the development of standardised and scalable modular engineering solutions.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, integration, and testing teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Provide technical support during factory installation and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all designs meet relevant standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.
• Assist estimating and commercial teams during tender and pre-construction phases.
• Act as a key technical contact for internal teams, suppliers, and specialist vendors.
• Support and mentor junior engineers within the electrical design function.
• Contribute to process improvement and ongoing development of modular delivery systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical design within industrial, power, energy, data centre, or mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of LV/MV systems, generators, UPS systems, controls, and associated infrastructure.
• Experience preparing electrical design deliverables including schematics, layouts, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical delivery.
• Strong communication and coordination skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, EPLAN, or similar.
• Exposure to modular construction or off-site manufacturing would be advantageous.
