OverviewA well-established and growing M&E engineering consultancy is seeking an
Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join its Building Services team in
Co. Wicklow.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically diverse projects across the Industrial, Life Sciences, Commercial, Healthcare, and Retail sectors, delivering high-quality electrical building services solutions within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
The RoleAs part of the M&E design team, you will contribute to the delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support.
You’ll work closely with mechanical engineers, architects, structural engineers, and project stakeholders to develop efficient, compliant, and coordinated electrical solutions.
Key Responsibilities - Design and specify electrical building services systems including:
- Lighting & emergency lighting
- Small power & distribution systems
- Fire alarm & life safety systems
- Containment & cable management
- MV/LV power distribution
- Prepare calculations, drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate designs within a BIM/Revit environment.
- Attend design meetings and liaise directly with clients and contractors.
- Support construction-stage activities including technical queries and site inspections.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Irish and international standards (IS, EN, ETCI, IEC, CIBSE).
About You - Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- 3–6 years’ experience in electrical building services design (consultancy experience preferred).
- Experience working on projects in sectors such as industrial, healthcare, commercial or life sciences.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).
- Strong understanding of electrical design standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to progress professionally.
