Electrical Design Engineer - North Dublin

ProSource Group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join a dynamic engineering consultancy delivering energy-efficient MEP solutions across commercial, educational, industrial, and institutional projects. You’ll contribute to design phases from concept through to handover, collaborating closely with other disciplines and supporting high-quality, sustainable outcomes.

Duties

• Design and specify electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, controls, earthing, and secondary systems.
• Perform calculations, load assessments, fault studies, and schematic drafting.
• Interface with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to coordinate services.
• Review and interpret design briefs, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, equipment schedules, and technical documentation.
• Support on-site inspections, reviews, and troubleshooting during construction.
• Assist senior engineers and mentor junior staff where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• 3–7 years’ practical experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, simulation tools).
• Strong understanding of electrical standards, codes, and regulations.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload, and deliver to deadlines.
• Keen interest in sustainable and energy-efficient design.
