Electrical Design Engineer - Galway

ProSource Group are seeking a Electrical Design Engineer to join a prominent Building Services Consultancy (Galway office) delivering high-quality, energy-efficient design solutions across a range of commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer who enjoys hands-on design, collaboration, and working across all stages of the project lifecycle from concept to completion. 

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll be a key part of the design team, producing detailed and coordinated electrical solutions that meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
Your role will involve:

• Designing and delivering electrical systems including lighting & emergency lighting, small power & data, fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, LV/MV power distribution, containment, and BMS.
• Producing detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications using tools such as Amtech and Dialux/Relux.
• Coordinating designs with architects, mechanical engineers, and project teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Supporting BIM coordination and developing 3D model data for construction drawings.
• Assisting in client meetings and contributing to project scope and technical development.
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining quality.

This role offers a mix of office, hybrid, and occasional site/client work.

About You

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• 3+ years’ experience in electrical building services consultancy design.
• Skilled in Amtech, Relux/Dialux, and AutoCAD (BIM experience advantageous).
• Proven ability to deliver detailed designs through all RIBA stages (A–F).
• Excellent technical understanding and commercial awareness.
• Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
• High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
