Electrical Design Engineer (Data Centres)

ProSource Group is currently seeking a Critical Systems Electrical Design Engineer (Data Centres) on behalf of a global consultancy. This position will be based in its Dublin office (City Centre).
You’ll be a key contributor in delivering innovative, scalable, and energy-efficient electrical design solutions for some of the most advanced and high-profile data centre projects in the world.
The role provides the opportunity to shape global data centre design standards while working with clients who value quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process and deliverables from concept to completion.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team across electrical, mechanical, and sustainability disciplines.
• Coordinate and manage small engineering teams, ensuring high technical standards and timely delivery.
• Prepare electrical designs, including schematics, layouts, calculations, and specifications.
• Attend project and client meetings, providing technical input and solutions.
• Monitor budgets, project timelines, and deliverables across internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the mentoring and development of junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with current codes, standards, and client requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (BEng or MEng).
• Significant experience in critical systems or data centre electrical design (other sectors considered).
• Proven ability to manage small to medium-sized teams and projects
• Skilled in technical design output: calculations, layouts, reports, and specifications.
• Experience attending design meetings, conducting site inspections, and managing coordination.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to guide teams toward effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and client-facing capabilities.
• Committed to collaborative, cross-discipline design environments.
