Electrical Design Engineer

ProSource are recruiting a Design Engineer on behalf of a well-established design consultancy based in Dublin. This role involves producing detailed building services design drawings, schematics, specifications, and project schedules under limited supervision, ensuring all work complies with Irish and European Standards, Building Regulations, and CIBSE guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of mechanical and electrical building services projects as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Assist Senior Engineers in the design and coordination of M&E services across a range of commercial and industrial projects.
• Prepare, review, and update technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accurate installation and project delivery.
• Provide technical engineering support throughout the design and project lifecycle.
• Liaise with Quality and EHS teams to ensure engineering requirements are effectively incorporated into project delivery.
• Produce and develop detailed general arrangement drawings, schematics, and layouts, including lighting, fire alarm, security, and building services systems.
• Liaise with Quality and EHS teams to ensure engineering requirements are effectively incorporated into project delivery.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant Irish and European Standards, Building Regulations, and applicable industry codes.
• Maintain accurate drawing control procedures, ensuring all design documentation is reviewed, revised, and issued in line with project requirements.

Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of Irish and European engineering standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Proficient in CAD software and experienced with building services design and modelling packages such as Dialux, Amtech/IES, Elevate, or Trimble.
• Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in the design of mechanical and/or electrical building services.
• Excellent technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services design, with the ability to produce accurate and compliant engineering solutions.
