Electrical Commissioning Manager

ProSource Group are seeking a Commissioning Manager with an extensive hands-on craft knowledge to lead the testing and commissioning phase across large-scale electrical projects. You will be responsible for ensuring all electrical systems, are fully tested, commissioned and performing to specification. You will work closely with Project Director / Manager and site teams to deliver fully functional, compliant electrical installations that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate all testing and commissioning activities
  • Develop detailed commissioning plans and schedules
  • Ensure all testing is completed and signed off for electrical systems and specialist systems
  • Liaise with subcontractors and specialist contractors to ensure coordinated commissioning activities
  • Coordinate with other Mechanical and Civil Trades to ensure integrated systems commissioning
  • Attend and contribute to coordination meetings with all project stakeholders
  • Report regularly to the Project Director on commissioning progress, issues and completion status.
  • Oversee preparation of detailed test sheets, commissioning records and certification documentation
  • Sign off on completed testing and commissioning activities
  • Identify, troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of technical issues during the commissioning phase
  • Support with client walkthroughs and technical aspects of project handover
  • Maintain accurate records in project folders and Quality Management System
  • Ensure all EH&S requirements are met during commissioning activities
  • Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations and technical developments
  • Complete all required CPD and attend technical training programmes
Requirements:
  • Trade qualified electrician with minimum 5+ years' experience in Commissioning role
  • 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering (advantageous)
  • Thorough knowledge of ETCI National Rules
  • Extensive experience with testing equipment, commissioning procedures and Building Management Systems
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems across multiple sectors (commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and team motivation skills
  • Excellent co-ordination, communication, negotiation and client-facing skills
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and technical report writing ability
  • Ability to plan and manage programmes, work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Commercial knowledge and ability to estimate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
