Data Analyst

Our client, a growing accountancy practice based in North Dublin, is looking to recruit a Data Analyst to join their team and help drive efficiencies across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for Data Analyst who is keen to move beyond traditional reporting and use their analytical skills to understand how a business operates, identify inefficiencies and help develop smarter ways of working.

The successful candidate will work across a number of different areas of the practice, including accounts, audit, tax, payroll and operations, analysing data and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse data across different areas of the practice to identify trends, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Review existing processes and workflows and identify areas where time, duplication or unnecessary manual work can be reduced.
• Develop reports, dashboards and management information to support decision-making.
• Use data to identify opportunities to improve productivity, turnaround times and resource allocation.
• Work with teams across the business to understand how processes currently operate and identify potential improvements.
• Assist with the automation of repetitive and manual processes.
• Extract, manipulate and analyse data from different systems and sources.
• Improve data accuracy, consistency and reporting.
• Develop and monitor KPIs across different areas of the practice.
• Support the introduction of new systems, tools and technology.
• Present findings and recommendations to management and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assist with wider business improvement and digital transformation projects.

The Person

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have a degree in Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline, together with at least 12 months' relevant experience.

A graduate from DCU's analytics/data-related programmes could be a particularly good fit, although candidates from other universities and relevant academic backgrounds will also be considered.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A degree in Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• At least 12 months' experience in a data, analytical, reporting or business-focused role.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with Power BI or another data visualisation/BI platform.
• An analytical and inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
• The ability to work with large datasets and turn information into meaningful insights.
• An interest in process improvement, automation and technology.
• Strong attention to detail.
• The ability to communicate findings clearly to colleagues who may not have a technical background.
• A willingness to learn and work across different areas of the business.
