Contracts Manager - Roads & Transport Infrastructure

This is a senior position with responsibility for the overall delivery and commercial performance of major projects. The successful candidate will require strong NEC contract experience, alongside the ability to manage clients, stakeholders, project teams and commercial matters across complex infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of major road and transport infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee multiple project teams, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
  • Manage projects operating under NEC contracts, ensuring contractual obligations, notices and procedures are followed.
  • Work closely with commercial teams on project costs, forecasting, variations, compensation events and contractual matters.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, local authorities and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee project programmes, resources and key delivery milestones.
  • Lead Project Managers, Site Agents, Engineers and wider site teams across project delivery.
  • Identify and manage commercial, contractual, programme and operational risks.
  • Attend senior-level client and progress meetings and provide clear project reporting.
  • Support procurement and management of key subcontractor and supply chain packages.
  • Ensure projects maintain high standards across Health & Safety, quality and environmental requirements.
  • Drive projects through construction, completion and final handover.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related discipline is essential.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience within civil engineering and infrastructure construction.
  • Strong background delivering large road, highways or transport infrastructure projects.
  • Previous NEC contract experience is essential.
  • Experience operating at Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager or similar senior delivery level.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, variations, risk and commercial performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience dealing with clients, consultants, local authorities and third parties.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent programme, reporting and organisational capabilities.
  • Full Irish driving licence.
