Company Intro / Summary A well-established Irish contractor seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
Estimator to join their growing team. The company is renowned for delivering high-quality projects across commercial, industrial, and educational sectors nationwide. Responsibilities - Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor elements.
- Prepare and submit tender documentation within tight deadlines.
- Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Liaise with the Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager, and project teams to ensure consistency of cost information.
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, consultants, and design teams.
- Provide input into value engineering and alternative construction methods.
- Prepare detailed handover documentation once tenders are secured.
- Support project teams during early project stages with cost advice and procurement strategy.
Requirements - Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (commercial project experience desirable).
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, Cubit, Causeway) and Microsoft Excel/COINS.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational abilities.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Package - €60,000 - €70,000 DOE.
