Construction Estimator

A well-established Irish contractor seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Estimator to join their growing team. Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor elements.
• Prepare and submit tender documentation within tight deadlines.
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
• Liaise with the Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager, and project teams to ensure consistency of cost information.
• Attend pre- and post-tender meetings with clients, consultants, and design teams.
• Provide input into value engineering and alternative construction methods.
• Prepare detailed handover documentation once tenders are secured.
• Support project teams during early project stages with cost advice and procurement strategy.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (commercial project experience desirable).
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, Cubit, Causeway) and Microsoft Excel/COINS.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational abilities.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Package

• €60,000 - €70,000 DOE.
