A reputable, industry-renowned energy consultancy in North County Dublin is continuing its market growth and has created a new position, suitable for an experienced Business Development Manager to shape and make their own.
About the company While many organisations claim to be market leading, our client has the track record and reputation to support it. They are continuously innovating to provide best-in-class services and bring new solutions to the market.
They support large energy users with flexible energy contract management, successfully implementing dynamic hedging strategies while actively trading on live energy markets. Service offerings include Price Risk Management, Carbon Management, Renewable Energy Generation, and Market Intelligence.
About the position With a strong brand name and established network, business development has historically been carried out by consultants alongside their core roles. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline, the company has reached the stage where an experienced professional can step in and fully own the function.
You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of onboarding new clients, from lead generation and prospecting through to closing.
Responsibilities include: - Identifying, targeting, and developing new business opportunities across commercial and industrial energy markets
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding needs to deliver tailored energy solutions
- Delivering sales presentations, proposals, and tender submissions
- Partnering with internal teams to close engagements, ensure smooth onboarding, and maintain high service standards
- Consistently achieving and exceeding agreed sales targets and KPIs
- Staying up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments within the energy sector
What we are looking for Given the professional nature of the business and the opportunity to shape this role, it is essential that the successful candidate has strong B2B sales or business development experience.
Experience in energy, trading, or financial services would be advantageous. However, candidates from other industries with the right attitude and motivation will be considered, with full industry training provided.
Key requirements: - Proven track record in B2B sales, account management, or business development
- Ability to map markets, generate leads, and prospect effectively
- Strong sales cycle management and client engagement skills
- Motivation to build, own, and deliver a successful business development function
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong commercial acumen and professional manner
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel as required
