Our client is a growing boutique accountancy practice based in Longford, providing tailored accounting, taxation, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of SME clients. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant / Accounting Technician to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practice experience who wants to develop their technical skills in a supportive and hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and maintenance of client books and records
  • Processing of accounts payable and receivable
  • Bank and creditor reconciliations
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns (ROS)
  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and year-end financial statements
  • Payroll processing, including weekly/monthly payroll and Revenue submissions
  • Liaising with clients to obtain records and resolve queries
  • Supporting senior staff on ad hoc assignments
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping principles
  • Experience with payroll processing and relevant compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with Irish tax systems (VAT, PAYE, ROS submissions)
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Good Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
  • Accounting Technician qualification or currently studying (ATI, ACCA, ACA, etc.)
  • Experience working with multiple clients in a practice environment
