A progressive engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced
BIM Lead to join their Munster team based in
Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for a BIM professional with strong technical expertise and leadership capability to take ownership of BIM standards, ISO 19650 delivery, and digital project support across complex MEP and multidisciplinary building projects.
You will work within a dynamic, collaborative environment alongside highly skilled engineers and BIM professionals who value customer service, quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
The Role
As BIM Lead, you will be responsible for leading BIM delivery across projects, mentoring BIM team members, managing ISO 19650 workflows, and ensuring consistent high standards across digital design and coordination.
Key Responsibilities - Project manage ISO 19650-2 BIM projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to BIM Coordinators and project teams.
- Manage and maintain BIM standards, templates, content libraries, and workflows across projects.
- Act as the BIM project interface, supporting teams through design delivery and ensuring correct use of standards.
- Lead the administration of BIM software packages locally (installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting).
- Work collaboratively with other BIM/Digital Leads to review upgrades to software, systems, processes and standards.
- Manage BIM-related IT/technology support, liaising with software vendors and internal support.
- Deliver internal training and continuing education to staff on BIM tools, processes and emerging technologies.
- Support BIM modelling and clash detection where required.
- Support and manage ISO 19650 audits and ensure documentation is maintained appropriately.
- Stay up to date with emerging BIM technologies and best practice through conferences, workshops and industry engagement.
- Contribute to BIM service development, including supporting marketing initiatives and industry involvement.
Education & Experience - Degree (Ordinary/Foundation/Bachelor’s) in BIM, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in design/drafting/engineering production using 3D modelling.
- 5+ years’ experience using Revit MEP, ideally in a consultancy or M&E contractor environment.
- Demonstrable exposure to BIM Management on live MEP projects.
- Experience working on projects in sectors such as Residential, Commercial, Educational, Healthcare and Industrial.
Skills & Knowledge - Advanced Revit expertise, with good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, project delivery and construction workflows.
- High level of initiative and interest in BIM innovation and digital design technologies.
- Strong leadership, mentoring and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage priorities independently.
- Commercial awareness and ability to support delivery across multiple teams and projects.
- Willingness to attend interoffice meetings, training sessions, conferences and seminars as required.
