Audit/Audit Exempt Senior/ Semi Senior - Galway (Charites/Not for Profit)

Our client, a highly respected mid-tier accountancy practice, is seeking an Audit Senior or Semi-Senior to join their expanding team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant who has worked with not-for-profit organisations, including charities, associations, and social enterprises.

The role offers exposure to a variety of clients in the third sector and is not strictly limited to audit – candidates with relevant accounting, reporting, or advisory experience in the not-for-profit space are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or support audits of not-for-profit clients including charities, foundations, and grant-funded organisations.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 and charity SORP.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and grant reporting where required.
• Liaise directly with clients and act as a point of contact for queries relating to accounting, compliance, or financial governance.
• Provide advisory support around internal controls, regulatory compliance, or financial systems improvements (as appropriate to experience).
• Mentor junior staff and support their development.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the charity sector’s financial and regulatory landscape.

Requirements:

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA / ACCA or equivalent); strong QBE candidates also considered.
• At least 2 years practice experience.
• Prior experience working with not-for-profit clients.
• Familiarity with charity accounting standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. CRA, SORP, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and client service approach.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
