Our client, a well-established South Dublin accountancy practice and they are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their leadership team. Reporting directly to the Partners, this is a senior position offering genuine responsibility, client ownership and a clear pathway to further progression within the firm.

This is a broad Audit and Accounts role, ideally suited to someone currently working in a medium-sized practice who enjoys building long-term client relationships and being involved in all aspects of client service, rather than specialising in one narrow area.

The successful candidate will become a key member of the firm's management team, working closely with the Partners to deliver high-quality audit and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of SME, owner-managed and corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of audit and accounts clients across a broad range of industries.
  • Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to the highest professional standards.
  • Review statutory financial statements prepared under relevant accounting standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing commercially focused advice and developing long-term relationships.
  • Work directly with the Partners on complex assignments, technical matters and business development initiatives.
  • Review and supervise the work of Audit Seniors and junior team members, providing coaching, mentoring and technical guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, professional and quality control requirements.
  • Assist in improving audit methodologies, internal processes and operational efficiencies.
  • Support practice growth by identifying additional service opportunities within the existing client base.
  • Participate in staff development, performance management and recruitment.
About You
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Significant experience in an audit role within an Irish accountancy practice.
  • Previous experience managing a client portfolio and leading audit engagements.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish GAAP, auditing standards and company law.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • A collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to provide practical advice to business owners and management teams.
Desirable
  • Experience acting as a Responsible Individual (RI) or the ambition and capability to become an RI in the future.
  • Experience working with SME and owner-managed business clients.
  • Exposure to advisory and business consulting assignments. 
  • Good Attitude and desire to progress in role.
