My client is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Associate Director to lead an established Audit & Accounts team based in Balbriggan.

This is a key leadership position for an experienced professional ready to take the next major step in their career.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, oversee a talented team, and manage a strong client portfolio across multiple sectors. This role offers a clear and genuine progression path to Directorship, with ongoing involvement in strategic decision-making and firmwide growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a primary contact for a broad client portfolio.
  • Build, strengthen and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Identify client needs and deliver tailored, commercial solutions.
  • Cross-sell relevant services to enhance client outcomes.
  • Oversee and review statutory audits and financial statements across various entities.
  • Review corporation tax returns and ensure timely filing.
  • Ensure all work complies with professional, ethical and regulatory requirements (UK GAAP, FRS 102, IFRS, ISAs).
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and fulfil CPD obligations.
  • Work with senior leadership on departmental and firmwide strategic plans
  • Support business development, including proposals, pitching and onboarding new clients.
  • Manage WIP, resource planning and fee recovery to ensure strong commercial performance.
  • Lead, mentor and grow the Audit & Accounts team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work.
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop individual training plans.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experiences:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Significant post-qualification experience in audit, accounts and client management
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex assignments
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish/UK accounting and auditing standards
  • Commercially astute with a strategic, growth-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using cloud-based platforms and digital tools
  • Organised, detail-focused and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • A natural leader who enjoys developing others and driving business success.
