ProSource are looking for an Associate Civil Engineer on behalf of their client, a growing design consultancy, for a position in their Cork office. This is a client-facing role with the opportunity to lead and manage a strong portfolio of existing long-term work with Uisce Eireann and other stakeholders without having to built up networks from scratch, whilst also providing you with the opportunity to grow the team of junior and senior engineers that will be reporting in to you.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Acting as a relationship manager and primary point of contact for Uisce Éireann.
  • Leading the delivery of wastewater network projects and feasibility studies.
  • Managing projects from initial scoping and feasibility through design and delivery.
  • Providing technical leadership and overseeing the quality of engineering outputs.
  • Managing client expectations, project programmes, budgets and resources.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing an initial team of up to six engineering professionals.
  • Supporting the recruitment and long-term expansion of the water engineering team.
  • Coordinating with internal disciplines, external consultants and project stakeholders.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports, feasibility assessments, designs and tender documentation.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand existing commissions and strengthen the consultancy’s position on Uisce Éireann frameworks.
  • Supporting senior management with workload planning, commercial performance and strategic growth.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience within civil or water engineering.
  • Strong experience delivering wastewater network, utilities or water infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience operating within Uisce Éireann frameworks.
  • A consultancy background is preferred, although candidates from contractors with substantial technical design experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary projects and engineering teams.
  • Strong client-facing, relationship-management and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of feasibility studies, wastewater networks and civil infrastructure design.
  • Experience managing project programmes, budgets, resources and technical deliverables.
  • Chartered Engineer status, or an equivalent professional qualification, is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
