A leading accountancy practice in Kilkenny is seeking an ambitious
Assistant Manager / Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a progressive and people-focused firm.
The role offers strong flexibility and can be tailored around the successful candidate’s background and strengths – whether your experience lies primarily in
Audit, Accounts Preparation, Tax, or a combination of all three.
The Opportunity Working closely with Partners and senior leadership, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, supporting SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and larger organisations. The firm is open to shaping the position around the right person’s experience and career ambitions.
Key Responsibilities Depending on experience and preference, responsibilities may include:
Audit - Leading and managing audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Reviewing financial statements and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout engagements
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Accounts - Preparation and review of statutory financial statements for a diverse client base
- Management accounts preparation and financial reporting
- Advising clients on financial performance, systems, and business improvements
Tax - Managing corporate and personal tax compliance matters
- Supporting tax planning projects and advisory work
- Liaising with clients on tax deadlines and compliance requirements
People Management & Client Service - Managing a portfolio of clients and building long-term relationships
- Reviewing work completed by junior staff and providing mentorship
- Assisting with workflow management and team development
- Contributing to business development and growth initiatives where relevant
Candidate Profile - Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA) or qualified by experience
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
- Exposure to Audit, Accounts, Tax or a specialist area within practice
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively within a team
- Ambitious, commercially minded, and keen to progress their career
