We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Advisor to join our team in Limerick. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all safety, health, environmental, and quality standards are upheld across our projects. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with industry regulations and promoting a culture of safety and quality within our organization, which is a leading player in the civil engineering and construction sector in Ireland.
Role: The SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing SHEQ policies and procedures on-site. This position requires a proactive individual with strong knowledge of SHEQ practices, particularly within the civil engineering and construction sectors.
Responsibilities: - Develop and implement SHEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide training and support to site teams on SHEQ matters, ensuring that all personnel are aware of their responsibilities.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of all SHEQ activities, including inspections, audits, and training sessions.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure that SHEQ standards are maintained throughout all phases of a project.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety, health, environment, and quality practices across the organization.
Requirements: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a SHEQ role, preferably within the civil engineering or construction sectors.
- Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Strong understanding of SHEQ legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SHEQ management software.
