Junior Quantity Surveyor

Company Intro / Summary
An established construction company with a strong presence across Ireland is looking to add a Junior Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team in Galway. The business delivers projects across the commercial, residential, life science and data centre sectors, with a particular focus on fit-out and modular construction.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the financial and contractual management of projects, working closely with the wider commercial and project teams while developing their experience across a varied project portfolio.

Responsibilities
• Supporting the commercial and financial management of construction projects
• Assisting with subcontractor and supplier selection and procurement
• Supporting the appointment and management of subcontractors
• Assisting with project financial reporting and analysis
• Monitoring project costs and identifying additional costs in line with contract conditions
• Maintaining project change registers
• Preparing variation costings and agreeing these with the design team
• Attending site, internal and subcontractor meetings as required
• Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts
• Working closely with Senior Management and the wider project team

Requirements
• Level 8 qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent – essential
• Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Excellent reporting skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Enthusiastic and motivated approach
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet challenging deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Package
• Salary: €50,000 DOE
• Galway based
