Junior H&S Officer

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health & Safety (H&S) Officer to join our team, covering projects in the West of Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across all project sites.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure safe working practices.
- Lead and support the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring thorough reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
- Provide health and safety training and induction programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments, safety reports, and training documentation.
- Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with health and safety legislation and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and enhancement of safety standards.

Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Health & Safety or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer, preferably in the construction or civil engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
