H&S Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health & Safety (H&S) Officer to join our team at a prominent concrete supplier in Croom, Co. Limerick. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across all operations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure safe working practices.
• Lead and support the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring thorough reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
• Provide health and safety training and induction programs for employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments, safety reports, and training documentation.
• Liaise with plant managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with health and safety legislation and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and enhancement of safety standards.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Health & Safety or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer, preferably in the construction or manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
