H&S Officer | Midlands | Civils Contractor

Our client, a well-established contractor in the construction industry, is seeking a Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor to support projects across Ireland. Based in the Midlands, this role will involve travel to sites in Dublin and the West, making it ideal for a candidate located centrally. The successful candidate will implement and monitor health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a culture of safety across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures across multiple project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Deliver H&S inductions, training, and ongoing support to site personnel to reinforce safe working practices.
• Investigate any incidents, accidents, or near misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and contractors to uphold health and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with Irish H&S regulations and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of H&S activities, reports, and safety documentation.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within the construction sector.
• Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and construction safety standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and engage site teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Full driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites across Ireland.
