Our client, a leader in water and wastewater treatment solutions, is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or those with up to one year of experience who are eager to build a career in mechanical engineering within the water sector. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in managing and delivering innovative water projects, working closely with an experienced team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the engineering and delivery of water and wastewater pumping and treatment installations.
- Support the procurement of materials, parts, and labour for projects, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate on project timelines, ensuring tasks from contract award to completion are met within schedule.
- Assist in managing on-site labour teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Contribute to writing engineering reports, method statements, risk assessments, and commissioning schedules.
- Ensure health and safety documentation is complete and support the enforcement of safe work practices on-site.
- Provide input into the preparation of operation and maintenance (O&M) documentation.
Skills & Attributes: - Proficiency in PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office and project planning tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen interest in mechanical engineering.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn about the water and wastewater industry.
- Ability to organise, prioritise, and meet deadlines within a time-sensitive schedule.
Education & Requirements: - Third-level honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar relevant qualification.
- Full EU/Irish driving licence.
