Galway - Tax Manager/ Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
 
Tax Planning and Advisory:

• Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies for clients to optimize their tax positions.
• Provide proactive and strategic tax advice to clients on a range of issues, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and other business transactions.

 
Compliance Management:

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and update clients and colleagues on their implications.

 
Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Provide guidance and training to team members to enhance their technical skills and professional development.

 
Client Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored tax solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor, delivering exceptional client service and ensuring client satisfaction.

 
Research and Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth tax research to stay informed about emerging issues and opportunities.
• Analyse complex tax matters and provide innovative solutions to address clients' challenges.

 
Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
• Professional certification (e.g ACA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
• Qualified Charted Tax or desire to progress same.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in a tax role, preferably within a chartered accounting firm.
• In-depth knowledge of Irish tax laws and regulations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
