We are seeking an experienced Plant, Equipment & Vehicle Fleet Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our plant, equipment, and vehicle fleet in Ireland. This role involves managing a smaller stock and servicing fewer sites compared to our UK operations, focusing on ensuring efficient operations, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  
Responsibilities:
  
  • Administrative and Compliance Management:
  • - Set up and manage fuel cards, taxes, insurances, NCTs, licenses, plant tickets, toll tags, city & council parking agreements, etc.
  • - Maintain comprehensive records and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company health, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Maintenance and Servicing:
  • - Oversee the maintenance and servicing of all plant, equipment, and vehicles, whether hired from our UK Plant Hire Division or company-owned.
  • - Coordinate with market sources to obtain competitive rates for maintenance and servicing.
  • - Manage contracts for freelance fitters/mechanics, maintenance services, and purchase hire agreements.
  • Financial and Budget Management:
  • - Oversee the plant budget and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • - Manage invoice verification, supplier setups, and purchase orders through interfacing with Accounts and using accounting software (Coins/Easybuild).
  • - Reconcile delivery dockets with orders placed.
  • Operational Management:
  • - Place plant, equipment, and vehicle hire orders, managing on-hire and off-hire processes.
  • - Manage all haulage and transport associated with fleet movements between the yard, sites, and the UK Plant Hire Division.
  • - Interface with site teams to meet their requirements, arrange transport, and book deliveries.
  • - Ensure high standards of housekeeping in the yard and workshops.
  • Team and Stakeholder Management:
  • - Coordinate with the UK Plant Hire Division and interface effectively to ensure seamless operations.
  • - Ensure health and safety standards are embedded within all yard, maintenance, and transport activities.
  
Requirements:
  
  • Proven managerial experience in plant, equipment, and vehicle fleet management, including financial oversight.
  • Hands-on mechanical experience is a strong advantage, though this role is primarily managerial.
  • Highly IT literate with experience in using accounting software and other relevant IT tools.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to implement cost-saving strategies and manage budgets effectively.
