As part of their ongoing growth, they are looking to hire an Audit & Accounts Manager to oversee a large book of clients and lead a motivated team within a flexible and supportive work environment.
Role Overview This is a key leadership role focused on managing audit and statutory accounts assignments for a varied SME client base. The Audit & Accounts Manager will take ownership of client relationships, ensure high-quality service delivery, and support the development of junior staff. The role offers excellent career progression within a growing and dynamic practice.
Key Responsibilities - Manage a portfolio of SME clients across audit, accounts preparation, and business advisory services.
- Lead and review statutory audit assignments in accordance with relevant standards (e.g. ISA, FRS 102).
- Oversee preparation and finalisation of statutory accounts and management accounts.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for day-to-day matters.
- Review work completed by junior and semi-senior staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with tax, payroll, and company secretarial departments as needed to deliver a holistic client service.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and value-added advisory services.
- Contribute to the development of internal systems and workflows to support continued practice growth.
Requirements - Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA).
- 5+ years’ experience in an Irish practice (3 years PQE), ideally in a medium-sized firm.
- Proven experience managing audits and accounts preparation for SME clients.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (e.g. FRS 102) and audit regulations.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting and audit software (e.g. Relate, Surf, or CaseWare desirable).
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and teams in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable - Prior experience managing a team of part-qualified or junior staff.
- Familiarity with cloud accounting tools (e.g. Xero, Sage Business Cloud).
- Exposure to sectors such as construction, professional services, retail, or hospitality.
