We are working with a construction company based in Cork, seeking an new company accountant to join the team. The finance team comprises of 3 full time employees.

Your role will be to oversee the finance function working in conjunction with and reporting to the Managing Directors. This will involve working as part of a team to ensure the following tasks are met:
  • Managing Accounts Receivable function - which will include: creating/ processing/ entering sales invoices, managing debtors’ ledger, dealing with clients’ queries, submitting reports to management on accounts receivable operations
  • Managing the Accounts Payable function: creating suppliers and subcontractors’ accounts, processing suppliers and subcontractors’ payments, managing creditors’ ledger, reconciling creditors statements, registering subcontractors’ contracts and payments on ROS, dealing with suppliers and subcontractors’ queries; submitting reports to management on accounts receivable operations;
  • Reconciling bank statements and general ledger;
  • Preparing financial statements to reflect income and expenses;
  • Processing VAT / PAYE/PRSI / RCT / RTD Returns and submitting to Revenue (via ROS);
  • Processing weekly employee payroll using Thesaurus payroll software;
  • Preparation of year end accounts;
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders e.g. Accountants/ Auditor;
  • Review policies and procedures and implementing changes.
  • Other administrative and ad-hoc duties.

You will have the following skills / experience:
  1. Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant.
  2. Experience working in a similar role for at least 4 years.
  3. Construction sector experience is desirable.
  4. Proficient in the use of SAGE, Theasurus, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  5. Ability to work on own initiative and with collaboratively with the team. 
  6. Excellent communication skills.

  8. Excellent attention to detail;
  9. Excellent analytical skills;
  10. Good time management skills.
