Superintendent

Role Overview
We are supporting a growing New York City General Contractor seeking a Superintendent to oversee active retail and commercial interior fit-out projects throughout the five boroughs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys being on-site, driving project delivery, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to a high standard.
The company has a strong pipeline of work across the retail and commercial interiors market and is looking to bring on someone who can take ownership of projects from mobilization through turnover.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations on active retail and commercial interior projects.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and site logistics.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
• Conduct daily site walks and proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Maintain site safety and enforce company and OSHA requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and manage punch list completion through project closeout.
• Work closely with Project Managers, clients, architects, landlords, and building management teams.
• Track manpower, productivity, and site progress while providing regular project updates.
• Manage project turnover and closeout activities.

Requirements

• Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Foreman experience within commercial construction.
• Experience delivering retail, restaurant, hospitality, office, or commercial interior fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field coordination.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain project schedules in fast-paced environments.
• Experience working within occupied buildings and active commercial spaces preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Self-motivated individual who takes pride in project execution and site management.

Project values typically range from $500K to $5M.

Location

• Projects throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
• Candidates based within the NYC metropolitan area preferred.
