Senior Project Manager (Retail / Interior Fitout)

Role Overview
A well-established General Contractor in the NYC area is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their growing team, delivering a range of retail and commercial construction projects.

This is a key hire within a tight-knit, high-performing team, where the right individual will be given real ownership of projects and the opportunity to grow within a stable, relationship-driven business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects from pre-construction through to completion
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and client stakeholders across all phases of the project
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong client-facing relationships
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and overall performance
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and all project documentation
• Work closely with field teams to ensure efficient execution and resolve issues in real time
• Drive projects to successful completion, ensuring quality, safety, and timelines are met

Requirements

• Approximately 8–10 years of Project Management experience within a General Contractor
• Stable work history with no consistent short-term moves
• Experience working within a lump sum / at-risk construction environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to perform under pressure
• Retail or commercial interiors experience is highly desirable
• Candidates must be comfortable operating without constant supervision

Project Experience

• Retail and commercial interior projects highly preferred
• Experience across a range of project sizes, with exposure to mid-to-large scale builds beneficial
• Ability to manage multiple projects or complex scopes simultaneously

Location

• Projects are based across NYC and surrounding areas
• Preference for candidates based in Nassau / Suffolk County, outer boroughs, or Westchester

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $130k - $180k
