Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview
Our client is a well-regarded General Contractor based in New York City, delivering commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects across the five boroughs. Known for their strong client relationships and collaborative culture, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with 1+ years of experience to support cost management and preconstruction efforts.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional looking to grow within a fast-paced environment while gaining exposure to diverse NYC projects.

Your main duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for projects of varying size and scope.
• Conducting accurate quantity take-offs, cost planning, and value engineering analysis.
• Reviewing and analyzing construction drawings, specifications, and addenda.
• Soliciting, reviewing, and negotiating subcontractor and vendor quotations.
• Assisting in contract administration, change order evaluations, and cost reporting.
• Supporting project managers and senior estimators throughout the preconstruction and project lifecycle.
• Maintaining organized cost data, historical pricing, and estimating records.

To be successful in your application, you will possess the following:

• 1+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator with a GC or subcontractor.
• Familiarity with NYC construction practices, contracts, and bid processes.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Proficiency with estimating and take-off software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
