Purchasing Manager

Role Overview

An established mechanical contractor in Nassau County, Long Island is seeking a Mechanical Purchasing Manager to join its team.

The position will take responsibility for purchasing across multiple HVAC and mechanical projects, ensuring equipment and materials are sourced and released in line with project requirements and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing of HVAC equipment, materials and mechanical components.
• Review drawings, specifications and equipment schedules to determine project requirements.
• Handle equipment buyouts and coordinate pricing with vendors and suppliers.
• Track purchase orders, lead times, equipment releases and deliveries.
• Work closely with project teams to align purchasing with construction schedules.
• Maintain relationships with manufacturers, vendors and suppliers.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years experience within HVAC/mechanical construction.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC equipment and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specifications and blueprints.
• Good understanding of mechanical construction and project delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000–$160,000, depending on experience.
