Purchaser | HVAC / Mechanical Contractor

Role Overview

A leading HVAC and mechanical contractor in Nassau County, Long Island is looking to add an experienced Purchaser to its team.

The role will cover purchasing across a range of mechanical construction projects, with a strong focus on HVAC equipment, materials, vendor coordination and project-specific procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase HVAC equipment, materials and mechanical components for active projects.
• Use drawings, specifications and equipment schedules to identify purchasing needs.
• Complete equipment buyouts and secure pricing from vendors and suppliers.
• Monitor purchase orders, lead times, equipment releases and deliveries.
• Coordinate purchasing requirements with Project Managers and project teams.
• Work directly with manufacturers and suppliers throughout the procurement process.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in HVAC or mechanical construction.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC equipment and mechanical systems.
• Confident reading mechanical drawings, specifications and equipment schedules.
• Understanding of how equipment and material procurement fits into mechanical project delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000-$160,000 DOE
