Role Overview: We are supporting a well-established New York City General Contractor seeking a Project Manager to join its growing team.
The company delivers a wide range of commercial interior construction projects throughout NYC, including corporate office interiors, luxury retail spaces, high-end residential projects, and tenant fit-outs. With a strong backlog of secured work and a steady stream of repeat clients, they are looking to add an experienced Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout.
This role would suit a Project Manager who enjoys being heavily involved in project delivery, maintaining client relationships, and driving projects to successful completion.
Your main duties will include, but not be limited to: - Manage commercial interior construction projects from award through final closeout.
- Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and client stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, procurement plans, and project budgets.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts, and overall financial performance.
- Work closely with Superintendents to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Lead client meetings and maintain strong relationships throughout project delivery.
- Identify project risks and implement solutions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Manage project turnover, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
To be successful in your application, you will possess the following: - 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor or Construction Manager.
- Experience delivering commercial interior construction projects.
- Background in office interiors, luxury retail, high-end residential, hospitality, or tenant fit-out projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control.
- Experience managing subcontractors and client-facing relationships.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
- Stable work history preferred.
